Amanda Drury is one of Asia Pacific's top broadcasters, sitting in the hot-seat right now at the very centre of issues we face in global financial markets and the world economy.
Based in Sydney, she has spent most of her broadcast journalism career focused in the Asia Pacific region, formerly based in Singapore and Tokyo. Her reputation has been built over the past 10 years in financial and business broadcasting most prominently as the co-anchor of CNBC's Squawk Box and one of the anchors of CNBC's Cash Flow. She has a very strong understanding of Asia-Pacific economics and finance. She has great experience as a moderator, having interviewed central bankers, top business leaders and politicians from around the world on a daily basis and has developed strong working relationships over the years with famous investors such as Wilbur Ross and Jim Rogers.
Amanda has conducted business panels discussions with many of the world's most powerful CEOs including Lenovo's Bill Amelio, Qantas' Geoff Dixon and YHL Corporation's Francis Yeoh and has conducted live-on-stage interviews with thought leaders from diverse industries, including Larry Lanangan (responsible for MasterCard's "Priceless" campaign) and John Hegarty (BBH Chairman) at The Effies advertising awards. She has acted as MC at corporate events such as GE International's annual conference in Tokyo.
Amanda has relocated back to Sydney where she continues on CNBC's Squawk Box and Cash Flow and will also host Australia This Week. She previously developed hosted CNBC's personal finance series Grow Your Wealth and was also co-host of CNBC's tech-focused show Generation-e. Among the accolades, was a finalist in the 2007 Asian TV Awards in the category of "best news presenter".
Amanda was born and raised in Australia. She holds a degree in Fine Arts, French & Japanese at Melbourne University. Her first job after graduating was in Japan international relations and then began her broadcast career in radio, before joining Bloomberg TV in Tokyo.
