![]() Mr. de Jonquières has had a remarkable career spanning almost 40 years. He is one of the world’s best respected journalists and commentators on global economies, world trade, technology and industry. During his career with the FT he has worked, lived and traveled extensively in North America, Europe and Asia, acquiring first-hand knowledge of the three regions and relations between them.Currently based in Hong Kong as Asia columnist and commentator for The Financial Times, his global portfolio of assignments has seen him previously based in London, Paris, Washington, Saigon, New York and Brussels. He has been Bureau Chief in a number of key locations and has very strong business sector experience having specifically covered the electronics, computer and telecoms industries, consumer industries, media and leisure, as well as world trade. He now writes a weekly column for the Financial Times on the op-ed page and editorials on economic and business issues in the region, extending from India to East Asia an Australasia. A strong focus of his work is on China and India. Mr. de Jonquières is regularly called-upon to make keynote speeches at major world events or to moderate discussions at such gatherings. These have included major events run by the Royal Institute of International Affairs, Wilton Park, World Economic Forum (at Davos and in Asia) and the World Trade Organisation (WTO). He is invited by leading universities around the world to present his views, like London School of Economics, China Europe International Business School (CEIBS), IMD and many others. He has also prepared special presentations to a number of corporate gatherings including ones for BT, Deutsche Bank, IBM, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Nestlé. On other occasions he has been asked to brief various government departments and agencies around the world. |
