Jayesh Parekh

Jayesh Parekh, based in Singapore, is a ‘serial entrepreneur’ and angel investor. He provides insights into how companies and individuals can apply a more entrepreneurial mindset and approach to their existing businesses.
Jayesh is one of the Founders of Sony Entertainment Television, a major television network launched in 1995 in collaboration with Sony Pictures Entertainment, a division of Sony Japan. He is a board member of Asvathaa (gaming & animation), Game Ventures (online gaming) and eBus (TV commercial digital distribution).
Jayesh is on the Board of SONG, a fund owned by Soros, Omidyar and Google, which invests in SMEs in India that meet social objectives. Jayesh served on the Board of United Way International for 6 years. He is also the founder of ProPoor, a non-profit portal for NGOs (Non Governmental Organizations) in South Asia, and now a service of CharityFocus.
Jayesh is an active angel investor, with investments in various Venture Capital Funds in Silicon Valley and start-up enterprises across the broad technology and media space. In his earlier corporate years, he spent 13 years at IBM in various positions based out of Houston (USA) and Singapore, where he was involved in technical, sales and marketing roles.
He delivers in-company presentations and often enters in to deep discussions with teams from sales & marketing or business development team who are striving to embrace corporate entrepreneurship as a way to identify new business opportunities.
Jayesh holds a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from MS University in Baroda, India and a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, USA. He is an Investor-in-Residence at SMU, a TiE Charter Member, an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at INSEAD, and a member of ‘Indian Angel Network’.
