Mr. Bhaskaran is a leading Asian economist based in Singapore with over 20 years of experience following the economic, political and security issues in ASEAN and across the Asia Pacific region.

He co-ordinates the Asian business of Washington DC-based strategic advisory firm, Centennial Group, directing the economic research practice which provides in-depth analysis of macro trends in Asia. He works extensively with investment institutions, government agencies and corporations. Prior to joining Centennial Group, he was previously Managing Director and Chief Economist for SG Securities (previously Crosby Securities).

Mr. Bhaskaran is an authority on South East Asia markets and is views are widely published in Singapore and across Asia and is a regular columnist for the Nihon Keizai Shimbun (Japan) and The Edge (Singapore). In addition to writing and editing, he is a leading figure in a number of economic institutions. These include the Institute of Policy Studies (IPS) where he is an Adjunct Senior Research Fellow, the Economics Society of Singapore, of which he is Vice President and also the Council, and Executive Committee, of the Singapore Institute of International Affairs (SIIA).

Mr. Bhaskaran also serves on the boards of Silk Air (S) Pte Ltd, EH Group Ltd, Aspen Networks Inc., International Factors (S) Pte Ltd, Surbana Corporation Pte Ltd, CIMB-GK Pte Ltd and Green Dot Capital Pte Ltd. He is also a member of the Board of Advisors for the Centre for Analytical Finance, Indian School of Business, Hyderabad.

He is a graduate of Magdalene College, Cambridge University and holds a Masters in Public Administration from the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University.

Mr. Bhaskaran regularly presents in-house briefings on the economic, political and business environment in Asia and speaks at numerous business conferences throughout the year.

Mr. Bhaskaran has conducted studies on, and presented on, a wide range of subjects including; consumer finance in Asia, Asian economic integration, regional and country-specific economic outlooks in Asia, the Impact of China on the rest of Asia, India, China’s long term political outlook, portfolio capital flows in emerging markets, amongst many others. He is currently a member of MasterCard’s Asia Knowledge Panel.
